Magical Coastline

Tintagel

Okay  we are back on track with today's blog. Sorry for any confusion but Pop needs to count the days of this epic. As said, the weather today is terrible but we are still in shorts and tops with an outer covering of rain jackets.

Now about Tintagel. It is rumoured very strongly that this is where King Arthur was conceived here Merlin worked his magic in one of the caves at the foot of the castle island.
Brooding skies over the Tintagel

This is actually Castle Island

And this is how you get to it!

We didn't walk down the track and over the little bridge. Call us chicken but we were not about to risk the rest of our trip in the blustery and slippery conditions. We appreciated the views from the coastal walking track along which we carefully picked our way. There weren't many tourists along here!

There is a YHA in the middle of this pic.

It wasn't much of a day for anything else so the blog goes to air early. As said tomorrow's highlight may well be the inside of a launderette. It isn't far from the local golf links so We may just post some photos for all you golfing fanatics. Again our love to you all. Poss and Pop

  1. That bridge reminds me of the bridge in Northern Ireland when I was over there... Carrickarede Rope Bridge it was (thanks google...) Here's a link to a shot:

And whilst I am nowhere near adverse to heights, the howling Irish Sea winds and the entry fee was enough to keep me moving also.

And I'm not sure what your whinging about the weather for. Looks like a stock standard Summers day over there! :) Enjoy the laundry and feel free to take some golf shots!
