Bude and Bye

Bude and Bridgerule

Well a couple of things had to happen today. Yes the laundry or the flies would have following the car around. And it is our last day in this little slice of heaven that we have been fortunate to discover. Bridgrule and the cottage has been a most welcome oasis in our busy schedule. Doing our own thing including our own cooking, shopping and even laundry has been enjoyable. But before you start shipping your dirty washing to Cornwall, we must get back into the really heavy work doing our job as tourists.
First some quick photos of Bude which has been our resource center for information, shopping and internet connection. The staff welcomed us warmly each time we came in to update the blog... even wanted to read it!!! So here are for us the faces of Bude

Alison and Julia

And a few of the town's other attractions.

We did promise some snaps of the golf course...

But there is also surfing and swimming...

And of course the scenery.

You can go fishing in the famous canal if the weather is too rough for a charter. But the real treasure of this place as we found in our little village is the people. Pam at the Bridge Inn really made us welcome and took a genuine interest in what we were doing. Other patrons also joined in making us feel welcome although we may protest the bias of the quiz questions. Perhaps we should draw up our own set? Like "How much does Uluru weigh?" Then chuck in some hard ones!!!
Poss kept up her walking and on this last day in the village took to the lanes with the camera.
Glenholme cottage.

The river Tamar

Some new friends Poss found!

We couldn't have planned it any better this trip and may one day be back to enjoy the serenity... you can feel it!
Love especially to Robbie - thinking of you all as we head off to London

  1. Thanks for the golf course shots! I like how you took the shot from the rough so I'd feel like home as that's how I'd see most of the course!

If your trip has done anything it has taught me to make sure we get down to Cornwall sooner rather than later! As you're soon to leave the Old Country this pit stop will prove to be a much needed chance to refuel!
