Cornwall and the cottage

Bridgerule

Well we are finally back on the air although paying for it. Saturday was a long day. We caught up with cousin Nicholas who is now enjoying the beginning of a well earned retirement.
Nicholas,  Terry and Poss
We then drove to Cornwall with we think most of the population of the European Union. Not just every man and his dog, but tractor, cart and trailer. The motorway was dead stop for miles at a time going either direction - we are talking three lanes in each direction.
But we did eventually find the village of Bridgerule just inside the Cornwall/Devon border. Settled into the most heavenly cottage to please ourselves as we wish.

After a quick pint at the pub it was a long soak for Poss in the deep bath and lights out.
Sunday we went exploring although the wind was very strong and mixed with showers. But it isn't cold

Last night the "Aussie Hawks" did our best to uphold the flag in the quiz at the pub. However, as Matt can attest, the questions do not favor foreigners. We did manage a perfect score in one round but it was not enough to deflect the inevitable crash.

Today we resurrected our pride and and went further afield to Marazion and the island castle of Mount St.Michael. What a picture book place it is. Along with the mandatory million or so other tourists.
My time is nearly up so better go. Love you all and have a look at this Cornish icon!

  1. Believe it or not, never got down to Cornwall proper but it looks a great part of the world. The traffic, that I can relate to.

The ceiling on that little cottage looks like it might be an OH&S issue for those of us breathing slightly thinner air....

  2. Yes Matt, there is a danger warning attached to the cottage. For people over six foot tall just about everywhere. Not too many Cornish giants!!! Pop
