We are finally off!

Well the day arrived for us to start this wonderful journey. Pop finished his retreat Work in Melbourne on Friday 18th July _ _just long enough for us to do last minute shopping and toast Paul Fleming a happy fortieth. Mark was kind enough to drive us to the airport. We eventually made it through security minus skin lotion and shaving gel despite Poss's fighting rearguard action. Her metalwork in the ankle didn't cause a problem until it set the alarms buzzing and zinging in Singapore!

It is a special kind of plane. It actually has two floors or decks with the usual three rows of there in the cattle class in which we traveled. But it is very spacious and not many people on board for the eight hours to Singapore. We had whole rows to stretch out in. Food and service was really top notch.

Passing through UK border security was uneventful as was collecting the car. Not the VW Golf we were expecting or the Peugeot we were told was in the carpark for us. No! It is Korean (I think) car called Leon. I will post a photo later. It seems to have all the necessary bits and a 7speed box. Pop has sworn nearly every time he changed lanes or went around a corner ...damn wipers and indicators are swapped sides!!!!
But we got here to "The White House" appropriately named B and B to kick off our adventure. Off to Glasgow tomorrow and the Cwlth Games... Go Aussies!!!! Love to all.
